Apple is straight-up telling us to lie - HeyDingus
#PostRoll

AI tools can be genuinely helpful in certain applications, like adjusting the tone of an email or helping to get a better understanding of a complex topic. So why is all the marketing focused on using them for bullshit?

"So, what do we do concretely right now to help each other? This has two parts: what folks need, and how best to help meet those needs. I hope this list helps everyone see that none of us is powerless, and each of us has things we can do, today, to make a difference."

Wind the clock

"Many of us have looked back on historic events where people have bravely stood up against powerful adversaries and wondered, “what would I have done?” Now is your chance to find out. It did not just start with this election; it has been that time for a long time. If you’re just realizing it now, get your ass in gear. Make yourself proud."

Leading By Example - HeyDingus

"But it hasn’t shaken my belief that it still matters to do what’s right, even when the odds are stacked against you. Because one person’s actions can indeed be a catalyst into a collective movement. It’s called leading by example, and it’s how I choose to live my life."

Step-by-Step Guide to Show Webmention Interactions on Bear Blog | Yordi

I've been curious about implementing webmentions on my site(s), but it seemed really tedious to do on a static site. Yordi's post on how to set it up with webmention.io and some JS makes it look pretty simple though. Maybe I'll give this a go!

Tailscale is such an integral part of my homelab setup, and I love seeing how others use it in theirs. I think Brandon's approach for making Tailscale'd resources available behind public domain names but only accessible within the tailnet is super slick - kind of like Tailscale Serve but with custom domains. Very cool!

On Not Selling Myself Short | Brandon's Journal
#PostRoll
|
It can be so easy to convince yourself that a situation isn't as bad as you think it is, or that it might get better if you just grit your teeth, or that leaving it may leave you in a worse spot. Brandon writes about recognizing and overcoming those feelings and doing what's best for you. Don't sell yourself short!
