The Undeniable Utility Of CSS <code>:has</code> • Josh W. Comeau
#postroll
|
Of all the latest and greatest CSS features, the “:has” pseudo-class wasn’t exactly at the top of my wishlist. Once I started using it, however, I kept discovering incredible things I could do with it. It’s now become a core part of my toolkit! In this blog post, I'll show you some practical real-world problems I solved using “:has”, as well as some wild experiments that blew my mind!

The Moral Implications of Being a Moderately Successful Computer Scientist and a Woman – ACM SIGOPS
#postroll

I recently reached a few high points in my career that coincided, not coincidentally, with some of the worst harassment of my life. It made me reflect on how my career has been defined as much in terms of misogyny as technical excellence (I’ve garnered quite a CV in both), and how I have struggled t

melkat.blog - Email Newsletters Wherever
#postroll
|
Every day there is a new read later app, despite most of them being the same. I started my paid email newsletter journey by using my Feedbin address as my login address, but that never sat right with me, so I changed it to my primary email address and then set up my email to forward emails from addresses to read later apps. This was fine until newsletters stopped having consistent from addresses. Then I stopped wanting them to go to one read later service for another. This was painful to keep up with.

melkat.blog - Great Android Apps
#postroll
|
I was recently thinking about what got me interested in apps and design were the many websites that featured beautiful apps. Typically, these websites were focused on apps for Apple products, but as we see Apple go down this anti-developer and anti-consumer path of a monopoly, I think it's time we focus on the great apps for the other devices in our life, so today I'm going to share some apps for Android I was not aware of until recently.
